2015 Grammy Awards

Last night, music artists, movie stars, and celebrities gathered at the Staples Center in Los Angeles to recognize outstanding achievements in the music industry at the 57th annual Grammy Awards. It was a star studded affair as usual with amazing collaborations, performances, and can't-miss moments.

Grammys fashion is my favorite because celebrities push the envelope and take more fashion risks than they do at other awards shows. Here are a few of my favorite red carpet looks from Music's Biggest Night.

Celebrity Home » Lisa Vanderpump

Reality TV is my guilty pleasure. Specifically, 16 and Pregnant, Teen Mom, The Bachelorette, Catfish, and Vanderpump Rules. But out of all of these mind-numbing and IQ dropping shows, my favorite has to be The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. I don’t watch any of the other cities for the same reason I can’t watch The Bachelor; there’s too much cattiness and drama for me to handle. And while there’s plenty of drama in this particular spin-off, it’s somehow classier than say, Atlanta or Miami. It is Beverly Hills, after all.

My favorite housewife and probably the single most reason I watch this show is Lisa Vanderpump. Beautiful and classy with impeccable taste—she is forever fabulous, and her home, Villa Rosa, is equally extraordinary and exquisite.

Robes Revamped

Few things make me feel sexier or romantic than when I’m walking around my apartment or curled up on my chaise lounge in a robe. And I don’t mean boring, terry cloth or cotton robes old men wear down the driveway to pick up their newspapers. I'm talking about silk, chiffon, and lacy robes that flutter around you with every step; delicately crafted pieces of art that you can wear over equally sultry intimates. Focus » L'arnacœur (Heartbreaker)

While I’m generally not a fan of rom-coms (despite having seen most, if not all, of them), French romantic comedy L'arnacœur (Heartbreaker) is hard not to love. Charming and funny Alex is a professional heartbreaker who uses over the top tactics to break up couples. His one rule? He only breaks up couples where the woman is unhappy. "We only break up couples," is his motto, "we never break hearts." There is also absolutely no sex involved. Ever. Alex is hired by Juliette’s (Vanessa Paradis) wealthy father to break up her wedding to the man of her dreams, Jonathan (Andrew Lincoln), which is just ten days away.

L'arnacœur (Heartbreaker) is funny and engaging, and an absolute must see for any Dirty Dancing fan. The film's stunning locations include Paris, Marrakech, and Monte Carlo, and Chanel spokeswoman Vanessa Paradis looks unbelievably stylish in every single scene—the epitome of Parisian chic.

John Legend and Chrissy Teigen's Sexy GQ Spread

Grammy-winning singer John Legend and his supermodel wife Chrissy Teigen steamed up the pages of GQ’s February issue. Teigan looks incredible while wearing a plunging Saint Laurent dress as she lays on a table at NoHo eatery Narcissa in one photo. The two met back in 2006 while shooting the music video for Legend’s hit single “Stereo,” and were married in an intimate ceremony at an estate on Lake Como, Italy in 2013. Legend performed his single "All of Me" at the reception, which was written about Teigen.

Chanel Spring 2015 Couture Show

While Winter Storm Juno pounded locations from Long Island to New England with moderate to heavy snow, high winds, and coastal flooding for much of Tuesday morning, attendees at Chanel’s Spring 2015 Couture show in Paris were transported to a lush, tropical garden party.

According to Style.com, it took six months to make the 300 flowers that decorated the Chanel set. Dresses, skirts, and beanies adorned with silk flower appliqués floated down the runway. Let’s not forget these clothes are produced by hand – les petites mains, as the atelier workers are known at couture – and take hundreds of hours to produce.

Perfection.

Winter fashion doesn’t have to revolve around oversized sweaters, puffy coats, and UGGs. Duchess Kate looked simply radiant as she stepped out in Kensington for a busy day of engagements on January 19, 2015. 

Duchess Kate always manages to look chic and polished even when dressing for her pregnant figure. Her cashmere, powder blue coat and floral print dress is by maternity wear specialist Seraphine, a brand she’s worn previously, both before and after the birth of Prince George. Her navy, suede pumps, which she has been photographed in numerous times, are custom made by Alexander McQueen. 

Duchess Kate is famous for crashing websites and selling out anything she wears or touches so unfortunately the powder blue color is no longer available. Seraphine’s Natasha Cashmere Blend Coat ($349) is still available on their website in navy and blush, however. The Florrie Floral Print Dress ($179) is out of stock as well, but it doesn’t hurt to check the website every once in a while to see if they’ve restocked their inventory. 2015 SAG Awards

Awards season is heating up! Last night was the 21st Screen Actors Guild Awards where Birdman took home the top prize for best performance by a cast in a motion picture. Is an Oscar next for cinema veteran Michael Keaton? The Screen Actors Guild awards have become an accurate predictor for the Oscars, largely because actors’ union members who vote in the SAG comprise the Academy's largest voting bloc. In case you missed it (or chose not to watch it), here is a list of last night's winners: ​​

Rainy Day, Dream Away

We’ve been getting frequent combinations of ice, snow, and rain here in Washington, DC which makes staying fashionable rather difficult. When it’s this cold and wet outside, more often than not form takes a back seat to function. However, braving nasty weather is always easier when you have a great pair of boots to trudge around in and well, show off. I’ve gotten great use out of my Hunter boots for a few years now but I’ve found them to be heavier and clunkier than I would like. I'm not sure if it's because I have the earlier model but they’re also rather loose around my shins. So while they’ve dutifully done their job of keeping my feet and the lower half of my legs dry, I’ve never been particularly thrilled with them. Here are a few boots I’ve been eyeing to replace them:

From the master and pioneer of rainwear, Burberry never fails to deliver stylish and functional rain boots. I love the elegant, equestrian style and buckle detailing of the first two pairs, Belted Equestrian Rain Boots ($350) and Belted Equestrian Rain Boots ($375). I’m already picturing these with knee high socks, black wool tights, or over a pair or black ponte pants. The third pair, Stud Detail Belted Rain Boots ($425), would probably get less wear but they're fabulous because they redefine the idea of how rain boots “should” look. Burberry studding is always selectively placed and brings a certain edginess to their pieces without making it seem like something you would have found at Hot Topic.

While I’m not crazy about the plaque that says 'HILLFIGER' on the buckle detailing of these Tommy Hilfiger Coree Rain Boots ($79), they’re stylish and continue the trend of the riding boot style without the expensive price tag you’ll find with designer labels. 

These boots come in five different color combinations including black, black/tan (pictured), black/blue, navy/hot pink, and navy/red. The majority of rain boots I’ve come across have been in solid colors so the two-tone combinations are a fun and welcome change.

Who says rain boots have to be flat? Kate Spade doesn’t seem to think so. While I appreciate the freedom of being able to skip around in flat shoes, I love heels so these reimagined Kate Spade New York Romi Rain Boots ($150) are right up my alley. They’re feminine and girly without looking like you stole your daughter or niece’s boots. They’re available in black as well, but this candy red will definitely brighten up any rainy day.

Favorite Couple: Emily Blunt & John Krasinski

Emily Blunt (love her) won Best Actress in an Action Movie at the 2015 Critics’ Choice Awards for her kick ass role in Edge of Tomorrow and her husband John Krasinski (love him) surprised her by sneaking on stage to congratulate her (love them).

The two met in 2008, were married in August of 2009, and welcomed their adorable daughter Hazel into the world in February of 2014.

“It was one of those things where I wasn't really looking for a relationship and I was thinking I'm going to take my time in L.A.” Krasinski said on episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show. “Then I met her and I was so nervous. I was like, ‘Oh god, I think I'm going to fall in love with her.’ As I shook her hand I went, ‘I like you.’... It's one of those things where as soon as you meet someone you kind of know.”

Can we all let out a collective sigh?
